Ms. Lumumba proudly purports: My art has been featured in many quilt exhibitions throughout the United States. These experiences have expanded my vision of what is possible with textile art. My main philosophy in making my art is that I want to look up and see myself reflected. I hope the next generation of young artists have a broader, deeper view of what constitutes art and the idea of the importance of seeing yourself (or someone that looks like you) reflected in your surroundings and the media.
